How to Report
Government employees and others who reasonably suspect wrongdoing in or affecting Delaware state government are encouraged to report their concerns to the OIG so that we can assess them and take appropriate action. You can report to the OIG through our Hotline either using the online complaint form, or at the phone numbers and addresses listed on our contact page.
When you report information to the OIG, you can do so confidentially or anonymously. If you identify yourself when you make your complaint, the OIG will maintain your confidentiality to the greatest extent possible. We will not reveal your identity except to the extent the Inspector General reasonably believes disclosure is necessary to (1) prevent reasonably certain death or substantial bodily harm; (2) prevent the commission of a crime; (3) report an alleged commission of a crime to the appropriate law enforcement agency, or (4) perform the duties of the Inspector General, including to (a) collaborate with other oversight agencies, (b) contract for services of technical experts, or (c) support the decision and any recommendations resulting from an investigation conducted by the OIG.
If you choose not to identify yourself and to report anonymously to the OIG, you should provide as much information as possible, including identifying any relevant dates and witnesses. This will help us evaluate your concerns since we will not be able to contact you to obtain additional information. Information provided anonymously may be referred to the affected state agency or another agency if the OIG determines that action by another agency is warranted.
